The Editor

Hi, I’m Ixchel.

Korean and Seoul-based. Seventeen years of travel across 60+ countries, much of it solo. Ixchel Travel is the guide I wish I could hand every friend flying in.

Seoul

I know the feeling of landing somewhere new and not knowing where to begin — the fear included. Over the last 17 years I’ve been the outsider in 60+ countries, much of it solo, and I’ve learned which advice actually survives contact with a real, tired, hungry traveler.

So I don’t hand people a generic checklist. I give you judgment made for the traveler you actually are — honest, calm, and built for doing it your own way.

How I edit Seoul

The trade-offs a generic plan skips.

01

Pace

How much a day can hold before it stops being a trip and starts being a to-do list.

02

Season

What’s worth it in spring or autumn — and what to skip in Seoul’s humid summer.

03

Neighborhood flow

Ordering your days so they flow instead of zigzagging across the city.

04

Travel party

Solo, partner, friends, or family — each one changes what a good day looks like.

05

What you want the trip to feel like

The quiet reason behind the whole plan — and the part a checklist can never guess.
